Ph.D. After receiving a master's degree in engineering from the University of Tokyo

He worked at McKinsey & Company and Japan Industrial Partners before becoming an assistant professor and then a specially appointed associate professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, where he has been in his current position since 2019. 

His current research area is data-driven distributed induced cooperative mechanisms
